The British Monarchy
Originally this was published as a part work, from 1743 to 1749, when it was published as a book; this version had no "maps" (ie views).
It was then re-issued as a part work again from 1749, this time with these "maps", and as a 2 volume book.
The Essex plate is dated 1752. There is no scale, latitude or longitude, and is really an exposition of the Bickhams' skills in decorative engraving.
The plates were re-issued as "A Curious Antique Collection Of Birds-Eye Views Of The Several Counties In England & Wales;... " in 1796 by Laurie & Whittle.
