Cruchley's Railway and Station Map of the County of Essex
Folding version of the Cruchley's large map, a lithographic transfer from Cary's New English Atlas (1809), as used in his Atlases - the plate number of 12 is shown top right corner, as in the Atlases.
The map title on the face of the map is the reverse of the title on the cover - inside it is "Cruchley's County Map of Essex, Showing all the Railways and Stations, ..." (and more besides).
No Code. (There is on others.)
Displayed scale of 10 miles = 94mm, or 2.7 miles/inch; actual scale 2.8 miles/inch, or 1:175,000.
On the railways the Walthamstow to Chingford extension is present (opened 1873), but no line to Clacton-on-Sea (opened 1882) or Central Woolwich extension (opened 1880). Addresses listed as 6 George St Edinburgh and 25 Paternoster Sq London, and hence the suggested date.
