Bartholomew's Revised Half Inch to Mile Series - Essex - England & Wales Sheet 26
Both covers dated 1934 have the same map, but the cover and map dimensions vary a little:
Brown one is 512 x 722mm in a cover 202 x 108mm, and is a paper map, Price One Shilling and sixpence net;
Blue one is 519 x 718mm in a cover 189 x 95mm, and is paper mounted on cloth, Price Three Shillings Net.
Scale of 10 miles = 127mm, or 2.0 miles/inch, ie 1:126,720.
The Explanatory note has gone, but there are now two sets of keyed symbols accross the base of the map. A newly added symbol is one for Aerodrome (but very few marked).
Stanford-le-Hope by-passed (opened early 1930s). Map has code A34, ie printed first half of 1934.
