Collins' Railway Map of Essex
The same underlying map as Ebden 1860 but with more railways, including Bishops Stortford to Braintree (opened 1869) and the initial Walthamstow branch line (opened 1870, and extended 1872). However, there are still just two Parliamentary Divisions edge-coloured and colour washed, despite there being three from 1868, but the Parliamentary Boroughs show two Members for Colchester and just one for each of Maldon and Harwich - viz their post-1868 numbers.
Scale correct at 5 miles = 31.5mm, or 4.0 miles/inch, ie 1:250,000.
The map is coloured, dissected and mounted on cloth in hard board covers.
The map's date is estimated from the railways and the (mis-)treatment of Parliamentary Divisions.
