Lewis's Topographical Dictionary

Pale green wash across the county, and darker green edge-coloured. Drawn by R Creighton Engraved by T Starling, London.

The Dictionary first appeared in 1831, then in 1833, 35, 38, 40, 42, 45 and 49, often with further information added/removed.

Correct scale at 15 miles = 53mm, or 7.2 miles,inch, ie 1:455,000.

Railways look "proposed" - to Cambridge and to Ipswich, & to Thameshaven; the bottom of the Cambidge line goes through Walthamstow and joins the Colchester line at West Ham (both wrong).
